Overpopulation

Overpopulation the population of an environment by a particular species in excess of the environment's carrying capacity. The effects of overpopulation can include the depletion of resources, environmental deterioration, and the prevalence of famine and disease. Pollution is defined as the unwanted sound which is released into the environment. It disturbs the human being and cause an adverse effect on the mental and psychological well being. The effect of noise pollution can divided into two type. One is human health, another one is wildlife health.

Water Pollution

Moreover, our life greatly depends on water and life without water is impossible. Water pollution not only affects the fish and animals living in the water but also affects the whole food chain by also transferring the contaminants to the consumers depending on these animals. The 75% of the earth’s surface is covered with water and more that half of the total population of earth’s species resides in water. Water used from a polluted lake directly contaminates its user. Many of the water creatures are on the verge of extinction due to the dramatic increase in the water pollution. That are the cause of water pollution, its liken air and soil pollution water pollution is that it kills life that depends on these water bodies. Dead fish, crabs, birds and sea gulls, dolphins, and many other animals often wind up on beaches, killed by pollutants in their habitat (living environment).
Pollution disrupts the natural food chain as well. Pollutants such as lead and cadmium are eaten by tiny animals. Later, these animals are consumed by fish and shellfish, and the food chain continues to be disrupted at all higher levels.

Global Warming

Global Warming

Global warming actually is the evidence of climate change includes heat waves, sea level rise, flooding.  Global warming is the increase increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth. This is a type of greenhouse effect.

The main impacts of global warming is climate change its effect our society and natural environment. The sea levels are rising, record high temperatures and rainstorms are becoming increasingly. What are the Greenhouse Gases in global warming? The most significant greenhouse gas is actually water vapor, not something produced directly by humankind in significant amounts. However, even slight increases in atmospheric levels of  carbon dioxide (CO2) can cause a substantial increase in temperature. Increases the evaporation of water into the atmosphere. Since water vapour itself is a greenhouse gas, this causes still more warming. The warming causes more water vapour to be evaporated. The C02 level is expected to rise in future due to ongoing burning of fossil fuels and landuse change. The rate of rise will depend largely on uncertain economic, sociological, technological and natural developments. Other gases such as methane, CFCs, nitrous oxide, tropospheric ozone are also responsible for global warming. Increases in all these gases are due to explosive population growth, increased industrial expansion, technological advancement, deforestation and growing urbanisation, etc.

Tsunami " The Aftermath"

"Tsunami The Aftermath"

After we are watching the movie of  "Tsunam the aftermath", we realise that, the disaster can happen in anytime and everywhere . The disaster are destoryed anything in that place, they are the family on a vacation, the hotel which is the place where the family stay is in are the impacts of tsunami, the tsunami also destroy serounding hotel area, and the visitor lost their family members and friends, just only few people still alive, but they look so sad because they not only lost their family but also property.

The tsunami is one of the serious natural disaster in the world. Even just only few minutes, it also can bring a big impacts, and when you see the pictures about after tsunami, you will feel sad. Some of the people are die in a mins time, some of them are under evakuation and some in the hospital to get medic help . You will feel bad during tsunami, such as among the group is Susie Carter, who quickly reunites with her husband Ian, but is devastated to learn their four-year-old daughter slipped out of her father's arms and has disappeared. He wants save his dauther, but the water like billowy. So that is why we should study geography, in case prevent any kind of disasters and minimize the wastage's.

Then, another problem is about the burning bodies. It's about personal moral. After the tsunami, government decided to burning the bodies, because the bodies become putrid,it will pollute the environment. However, if the government burning the bodies, how to know the number of people who dead in disaster, and identify the people who is he of she. I think thats not a best solution, government should have emergency planing to manage the victim to help find the family member by DNA and get help for avacuation during the tsunami are happen.

Hurricane Sandy 2012

What is Hurricane Sandy ?

Hurricane sandy also called "super storm sandy"  devastated portions of the caribbean and the Mid- Atlantic and Northeasten United states during late october 2012.  Named of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane seasons. Storms of Category 2 intensity often damage roofing material (sometimes exposing the roof) and inflict damage upon poorly constructed doors and windows. Poorly constructed signs and piers can receive considerable damage and many trees are uprooted or snapped. Mobile homes, whether anchored or not, are typically damaged and sometimes destroyed, and many manufactured homes also suffer structural damage.

Small craft in unprotected anchorages may break their moorings. Extensive to near-total power outages and scattered loss of potable water are likely, possibly lasting many days. While it was a Category 1 storm off the coast of the Northeastern United States, the storm became the largest Atlantic hurricane on record (as measured by diameter, with winds spanning 1,100 miles (1,800 km)). Preliminary estimates of losses due to damage and business interruption are estimated at $65.6 billion (2012 USD), which would make it the second-costliest Atlantic hurricane, behind only Hurricane Katrina. At least 253 people were killed along the path of the storm in seven countries. Sandy developed from a tropical wave in the western Caribbean Sea on October 22, quickly strengthened, and was upgraded to Tropical Storm Sandy six hours later. Sandy moved slowly northward toward the Greater Antilles and gradually intensified. On October 24, Sandy became a hurricane, made landfall near Kingston, Jamaica, a few hours later, re-emerged into the Caribbean Sea and strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane.

On October 25, Sandy hit Cuba, then weakened to a Category 1 hurricane. Early on October 26, Sandy moved through the Bahamas. As hurricanes go, Sandy was an undistinguished Category 1 blow: Its 75-mph winds just barely qualified it as a hurricane.Effect of Hurricane Sandy divided by social, technology, political and enviroment. for the social impacts  and its aftermath that killed more than 100 people, include 69 Caribbean, 55 U.S. as of Oct. 31 a.m. destroyed whole communities in coastal New York and New Jersey, left tens of thousands homeless.

In addition, an estimated 50 million people live in the storm's projected path, where it has cancelled work and school. Next, the Subway service was closed and left people with no transportation because they were “flooded up to the ceiling” and it takes some time to take the water out of the flooded tunnels. And then, inflicted billions of dollars in infrastructure damage and cut power to more than 8 million homes, some of which remained dark for weeks.Economical impacts :Hundreds of schools, offices, shopping malls and restaurants have closed their doors in anticipation of the hurricane. Example: Broadway theaters canceled their shows. More than 60 million Americans are likely to be impacted by Sandy and experts are forecasting damages would hit $100 billion.Airlines have grounded thousands of flights in the Northeast. Amtrak has halted passenger train services across the north-east, while nearly 6,800 flights were cancelled.

Why Study Geography

Why we need to study geography, basically Geography is the study of the earth landscapes, peoples, place and any environments in the world. Geography its inform us about the places and communities in which we live and work right now, and talk Our natural environments, and know how to manage how our individual contribute to environments changes.

Geography is the study of the earth’s landscapes, peoples, places and environments. Geography is understanding of social and physical processes and related with places and regions  and differences in cultures, political systems, economies, landscapes and environments around the world. (wikipedia)

What is the important of geography actually help us to know about environment and our culture. and to know the impact on sociological, economical & political. Geography looks at the many connection between people, places, and the earth. There is some topic that I still remember is about 5 themes of geography divided by location, region, movement and human environment.

Movement Shows that over time things changes and movement happens like the movement of things, people and ideas Example urbanization, import and export, citizenship. The most importan things its to know about human and environment, that is shows the interaction between human and environment. And know more like how the environment benefit humans, and humans are unable to life without the environment.Shows how human action effects the environments and what kind of destruction human have caused in the environment. Nowdays, learn Geography are very important because we can learn about physical systems that affect everyday life, for example like earth-sun relationships, water cycles, wind and ocean currents. The most important why we should learn geography is to help the people understand landforms, climate and natural phenomena around the world.
